DP #2: Why Humans Tell Stories
Humans tell stories for a number of reasons. I think the two most important reasons are because storytelling is more allows people to connect to one another on a deeper level, and storytelling is also more engaging than just lecturing on a topic. Stories allow people to identify things they have in common with one another because they might see a part of themselves revealed in the story you tell. Telling stories in a traditional classroom captivates students attention. For example, Mr. Forte tells stories in Chemistry, and in doing so, is able to connect a seemingly abstract idea to something we can relate to, therefore making the concept a little bit less confusing.
