The four women from Jesus' lineage illustrate how his teachings are trying to tell us that we shouldn't become victims of circumstance. Instead, we should persevere through difficult times, take action to protect what is important to us, and stand up to our beliefs. Even though the women come from marginalized groups of society, a reversal of fortune takes place for some of them. We need to be more like Bathsheba, who, despite her manipulative personality, turns her situation into opportunity.
